Hi hat splash exercise

  1. is not as hard as you think, write down the notes and practice i just took me 30 min to play it (feet only) still need some practice to coordinate both hands and feet :p

  2. He uses both bass drums at the same time, he has a 22” bass that the double pedal goes to, and 24” bass that is tuned really low. There are videos on youtube of him using both.

  9. WOW! i can barly keep a steady 3/4 beat going with 1 on the bass drum and 2 and 3 on the hihat while playing around with the toms. let alone having both feet in differant times. that’s insane! im gunna work on this some more!!! thanks for showing me this.

  14. i prefer john longstrength but roddy has speed and independence…johns just over all creative more-so than roddy, also has speed independence and fluent as shit.

  17. yeah….it’s pretty easy….it only took me the first 2 minutes to figure it out. I SUCK!!!! what the hell is this double bass pattern? 3 on the left and double on the right foot….this guy is nuts! but great player! and surelyinteresting licks.

  19. Because on those types of axis pedals u can hav a beater on the left pedal if u look closly u can c a beater hole wher u put the beater in. So basically those pedals u can play on 1 or 2 bass drums.

  22. auxilliary hi hat or x-hat. just another hi hat but not controlled by the feet at all. they make specific attachments that you can buy that lets you do stuff like that.

  23. china!! splash, uhh theres more stuff, check out decollate on myspace, there drummer is crazy, some of their songs have a drum machine tho so listen and hear the one’s with the drummer.
